Lee Coffey
Lee is an actor and writer from Dublin.
He graduated from ICFE with a Trinity
Guildhall Diploma in Performance in 2012, playing parts such as Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Derek Chapman, Alan in The Raft of Medusa directed by Stephanie Courtney and Loveplay directed by Bairbre Ni Chaoimh for the New Theatre.
He trained in Padova, Italy in devising and writing with Matteo Destro. He then went on to train at the Gaiety School of Acting.
Lee has performed as a comedian, both independently and with the comedy improv troop The Princes of Lagos touring Ireland during his time.
In 2014 he wrote and produced, The Tenements for Collaborations '14 in Smock Alley, directed by Stephanie Courtney which was received well by audiences and sold out during its run.
Lee’s first full length show LEPER + CHIP directed by Karl Shiels, ran in Theatre
Upstairs in May ’14 to critical acclaim.
It then transferred to the Project Arts Centre, where it sold out its run. The script was also requested by the Irish Writer’s Centre as a piece of new work for their students to study.
He is currently working with the VEC and he is a founding member of Bitter Like A Lemon
